About Port Douglas
Port Douglas is located an hour north of Cairns and is the only place on earth where two World Heritage listed attractions exist, with the spectacular Great Barrier Reef on one side and the beautiful Daintree Rainforest on the other.
Port Douglas is known for its laid-back atmosphere, while maintaining an air of sophistication, with its many beautiful resorts and award winning restaurants. Every year Port Douglas' population doubles during the peak season, with the heavy influx of tourists flock to the region from around the world to see what this beautiful area has to offer.
The Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest are two attractions that make this seaside town famous. Boat rides out to the islands and spectacular reef are offered daily from Cairns and Port Doulas which is also a gateway to the beautiful Daintree. The oldest rainforest on earth the Daintree is home to millions of plant and tropical animal species making for spectacular viewing, with the treetop walk the best vantage point offered.
